This posting is for a 0.50 FTE INR (Intent Not to Rehire) Montessori position for the 21-22 school year. It has the potential to be combined with another 0.50 FTE position to make a 1.0 FTE total position. The posting will remain Open Until Filled.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Our school is a close knit family that consists of approximately 220 students: 4 primary classes, 4 lower elementary classes, and 2 upper elementary classes. All of our students attend on a "choice permit" and have specifically chosen us for our Montessori program.

Montessori Coordinator Job Description

The Montessori Coordinator at Buena Vista ensures the fidelity of Montessori practices in the school and works to promote a better understanding of Montessori practices among staff members and the community in general. In addition, the Montessori Coordinator works in close collaboration with the TLC (Teaching and Learning Coach) and performs TLC duties as assigned by administration.
The Montessori Coordinator job duties include:
Coordinate and conduct tours for prospective parents and community members.
Provide information to parents and the community regarding the philosophy and methods of the Montessori program.
Support all staff in understanding Montessori philosophy and its applications in the classroom and throughout the school.
Provide orientation for substitute teachers on Montessori philosophy and applications.
Assist/mentor classroom teachers in providing an authentic Montessori program at the request of teachers and/or administrator.
Model Montessori lessons at the teachers request.
Help lead staff training and Professional Learning Community meetings.
Participate on the Building Leadership Team.
Provide leadership in the ongoing development, improvement and alignment of the Montessori curriculum with the Colorado 2020 Standards.
Collaborate with teachers and the TLC to ensure students meet state academic standards while working within the Montessori pedagogy.
Ensure that students and teachers understand and adhere to the Montessori philosophy and best practices of Montessori education.
Assist in the recruitment of Montessori staff.
Serve as a liaison between school/district and universities/teacher education programs.
Assist in student data management and reports.
Assist with collaborative development of the UIP.
Help provide leadership on the Student Support Team.
Support the TLC (Teaching and Learning Coach) as needed.

SALARY RANGE

Teachers (including Psychologists, Occupational, Therapists, Physical Therapists, and Counselors) hired into D11 are placed on the appropriate lane and step of the teacher salary schedule based on two factors which include:

a) the educational background of the applicant and
b) the number of years of prior job related experience (the maximum credit granted is 14 years provided the experience occurred in the last 15 years).

The minimum in-hire salary for a this position is $39,273/yr and the maximum salary is $69,432/yr
