Summary
About the Position: This position is located with the Evans Army
Community Hospital, Clinical Support Nutrition Care at Fort Carson,
CO.
This is a Direct Hire Solicitation
Salary negotiation MAY be available for those candidates who are
new to Federal service.

Duties
- Coordinates nutrition care activities with nursing
activities.
- Communicates with nursing staff regarding diet changes.
- Assists the dietitian in nutritional assessment and screening
of individual patient's needs.
- Calls patient rooms daily and assists with meal selections
- Instructs patients regarding basic nutrition concepts and
menus. Requirements
Conditions of Employment
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness
determination, as determined by a completed background
investigation.
- This position has specific initial background investigation and
periodic re-verification requirements since its duties require
interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18)
years of age on a recurring basis.
- This position is a Testing Designated Position subject to
pre-employment screening and random drug testing. Selectees will be
required to consent to participation in random drug urinalysis
testing.
- Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of
Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must
provide a recognized exemption.
- Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is
required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants
may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on
the type of position.
- A pre-placement medical examination is required.
- This position requires incumbent to work weekends and holidays.
Qualifications

below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including
volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace
Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional;
philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including
volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your
relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which
includes assessing and screening patients nutritional needs;
modifying diet menus for patients based on nutritional needs;
conducting nutritional education classes for patients and family.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work
performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal
service (GS-04).
OR
Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study leading to a
bachelor's degree, with major study or at least 24 semester hours
in subjects directly related to the position.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: Having the specialized
experience as described, but less than one year; and some education
leading to a bachelor's degree but less than required. Computed the
percentage of the requirements that you meet, and the total is at
least 100% (To compute the percentage, divide your total months of
qualifying experience by 12. Then, divide your semester hours of
education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60.
Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least
100 percent to qualify.). (Note: You must attach a copy of your
transcripts.)

colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements,
you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a
private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign
education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to
