Job Description:
Job Description Estes Rockets, the world-renowned leading
manufacturer of innovative hobby products for the model rocket
industry, is looking for TEMPORARY Shipping/Assembly Workers to
package or prepare product for shipment. This is a multi-faceted
position that requires work on an assembly line, on packaging
machines, or in the picking and preparation of orders for shipment.
May operate simple machinery. Will assist with the loading and
unloading of trucks and ocean containers. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Work
on the engine blistering machine or assembly production line
keeping pace with established production standards. Quickly and
accurately pick orders following established procedures. Prepare
orders for shipment following all customer requirements. Follow all
guidelines relative to handling or packaging hazardous materials.
Place price stickers on retail goods. Communicate any problems or
questions to Supervisor or Manager. Follow all safety rules and
immediately notify Supervisor or Manager of any unsafe condition.
Perform other duties (production, warehouse and shipping related)
as assigned. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or
equivalent experience required. Previous experience in a production
environment preferred but not required. Must have reasonable math
skills as they relate to the movement of materials for production.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Must be able to perform manual labor
quickly and accurately. Must possess excellent manual dexterity.
Good eye hand coordination necessary. Must be able to function well
as part of a team or work group. Must be able to communicate
effectively with supervisor(s) and peers. SPECIAL EFFORT REQUIRED:
Must be able to work overtime as directed. TRAINING: Will be
trained by Shipping/Assembly Manager and others as needed.
SUPERVISORY RELATIONSHIPS: Under the direct supervision of the
Shipping/Assembly Supervisor. Under the indirect supervision of the
Director of Manufacturing. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Requires the
ability to stand and work on your feet for the entire day. Must be
able to lift and carry up to 70 lbs. Must be able to push or pull
up to 150 lbs on a cart. Must be able to push or pull up to 500
lbs. on a pallet jack. Must be able to stand or walk 95% - 100% of
shift. Must be able to move about with no difficulty to keep pace
with established job production standards. Must be able to reach,
bend, twist, stoop, kneel, and crouch with no difficulty. Finger
dexterity required to pick up materials without difficulty. Ability
to see and read simple documents with no serious difficulty.
Functions in a warehouse where temperature changes vary as external
temperatures change. Must be able to work in a stationary position
on an assembly line that is moving without difficulties. WORKING
ENVIRONMENT: Operates in a standard warehouse/production
environment. Environmental temperature changes corresponding to
outside weather are to be expected. Noise level may occasionally be
moderate. Hearing and eye protection is required in some areas and
is provided JOB TYPE: Full-time, TEMPORARY, SHORT-TERM Assignment
