Job Description:
*Position: * Certified Welder*Department: * Production,
Fabrication*Reports To: * Production Manager*Required To Be On
Site: * Yes*Overview: *The responsibility of the Certified Pipe
Welder at Power Zone Equipment is to perform all the technical
fabrication tasks needed in the manufacturing and service projects
of the company. This requires following technical welding
procedures and passing the Non-Destructive Testing requirements
when necessary. The technical welder is also responsible for
general fabrication when technical processes are not
required.*Primary Functions of this Position: * - Perform technical
welding procedures and assist in the filling out the documentation
required. - Perform research on technical weld procedures and
assist the company in identifying the correct procedure. -
Fabricate components off engineered drawings. - Work with
engineering team when an error is found and determine the best way
to correct the issue(s). - Fabricate components without the use of
drawings. - Operate the various fabrication equipment, such as
welders, iron workers, shears, radial arm drills, press breaks,
etc. - Perform fabrication repairs on existing equipment. - Perform
maintenance on all fabrication equipment. - Assist with time and
cost projections. - Assist with scrap steel management. - Assist
with steel inventory. - Assist with welding supply inventory. -
Assist other departments as needed. - When applicable, serve on the
safety team and take an active role in supporting and enforcing the
safety program.*Requirements: * - Possess a technical welding
certificate and be able to pass the required Non-Destructive Tests
when necessary. - Be time conscious. Work efficiently in order to
meet production goals. - Maintain a high quality of work. - Be
accurate and honest with time recording. - Be able to accurately
build components per engineering drawings. - Keep work areas clean.
- Maintain a safe work environment. - Have basic computer skills. -
Be a team player. Be willing to help in tasks outside of the usual
job requirements. Be open and willing to receive correction from
others. - Have respectful and professional PR skills in dealing
with coworkers and other company contacts.*Other Responsibilities:
*The primary functions and requirements listed above are the
minimum requirement of the Certified Welder and not all inclusive
to what may be required. At times assistance will be needed in
other departments. Power Zone is a small company and requires each
of its employees to move around and assist where needed. Every
employee must be flexible and able to accept tasks that are not on
his or her job description. These requirements are generally short
term and temporary, but occasionally extend to longer periods in
the case of an extended market down turn, position vacancy, cross
training, etc.*Optional Valued Skills: *Although the following
skills are not required, they will be valued and utilized in the
Certified Welder position: - Have machining experience and be able
to operate manual lathes, mills, etc.*Compensation & Benefits: * -
Range of $TBD per hour PLUS - Standard benefits package,
