Job Description:

Role Overview:--- Reports to a Senior Engineering Group Supervisor or Project Engineer; additional duties may include technical oversight of Control Systems design engineers.--- Responsible to produce high-level conceptual drawings and task execution documentation within the Control Systems discipline.--- Properly interprets and applies codes & standards, customer design requirements and scoping documentation, for the preparation of Control Systems design documents.--- Achieves and promotes continuous work process improvement.--- Champions non-proprietary electronic data interchange and integrate automation technology where practical.--- Must express thoughts and ideas clearly and concisely, both verbally and written.--- Demonstrates leadership qualities with emphasis on continuous improvement and team building, and interpersonal communication skills.Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:--- Review of and input to P&ID's.--- Preparation of system design descriptions.--- Preparation of logic diagrams and functional block diagrams.--- Preparation of instrument and control valve datasheets.--- Preparation of specifications and material requisitions.--- Selection of instrumentation and control valves based on system application requirements.--- Review of vendor drawings to ensure proper interface and compliance with the technical requirements.--- Programming of DCS and/or PLC.--- Development of Human Machine Interface (HMI) displays.--- Conducts checking of discipline deliverables, as required.--- Review of other engineering discipline drawings and close coordination with other disciplines and functions.--- Preparation of instrument index and I/O list using automated tools, using supplier inputs, as applicable.Basic Qualifications:--- Grade 26: BS degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Computer or Electro-Mech Engineering from an accredited institution with 9 years of relevant experience; or 15 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.--- The candidate must be a US citizen.--- Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check which includes verification of employment and education.--- Must be able to obtain a site security badge for access to worksites.--- Must have 6 years of experience in Control Systems Engineering developing documentation for Conceptual, Preliminary and Final Design.Minimum Qualifications:--- Hands-on Microsoft 365 office suite, VISIO, and other computer programs.--- Extensive knowledge and application of Codes and Standards.--- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, along with effective presentation skills.--- Must have the ability to achieve a Professional Engineer's license within one year of hire.Preferred Qualifications:--- Grade 26: MS degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Computer or Electro-Mech Engineering from an accredited institution with 7 years of relevant experience.--- PE Registration.--- Previous Bechtel and/or DOD or DOE project experience.--- Familiar with the design of nuclear facilities.--- Lead or supervisory experience.--- Previous experience in the review, selection and procurement of instrumentation and valves.--- Previous PLC programming and HMI development experience.--- Previous experience creating control logic diagrams.--- In accordance with Bechtel's duty to provide and maintain a safe workplace for our employees and to safeguard the health of our families, customers, and visitors, we have adopted mandatory COVID-19 safety protocols for each work location, which may include a vaccination or testing requirement.If applicable, mobilization and demobilization expenses (mileage, lodging, and M&IE) are authorized to and from the assignment location if point of origin is more than 50 miles away. Demobilization is authorized only if the assignment is completed per the assignment end date, or Bechtel ends the assignment earlier than specified.Contract employees are expected to drive their own car to the assignment location. Lodging plus methodology is approved for the settling-in period of the first 30 days or until long-term lodging is occupied, whichever occurs first. For mobilization, demobilization and during the settling-in period all charges, except M&IE per diems, are to be invoiced by the agency to Bechtel with required receipts. After long-term lodging is occupied, or the 30-day period has elapsed, the per diem allowance for lodging, meals and incidental expenses will be no more than 55% of the approved FTR rate*** Meals will be expensed via daily entry into myTime time record system. Expense reports including receipts will continue to be required for lodging. Actual lodging costs up to 55% of the approved FTR rate will be reimbursed.Contract employees on single status assignments of 3 months or more may be granted trips home. Trips are not to exceed a frequency of once every 28 days provided that a minimum of 30 days, from the trip departure date, remain in the assignment. Trips are expected to be scheduled over the weekends and will be on the contract employee's own time. Up to 3 days of home leave travel expenses will be reimbursed including parking and car rental at home (if own car was driven to project location). M&IE is only paid on travel days. Deviations in home leave schedules require project approval.
