The mill will be powered by the 1,800 solar farms being constructed at the steel mill which is due to be complete by the end of the year the most green steel facility in North America.Job Description:We are seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor to join our growing team located in Pueblo, Colorado. As a Quality Supervisor, you and your team will be responsible for ensuring the product quality meets or exceeds that of customer expectations and governing quality registries (ISO and AAR).Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Direct, manage and coach a team of employees in a safe, fast paced, efficient and high-quality environment for the manufacture and shipment of Rail Mill productsSupervise daily inspection and testing activities performed by Quality Assurance personnelEnsure a safe working environmentMonitor critical manufacturing processes to ensure ongoing conformity with standard operating proceduresEnsure inspection equipment is calibrated and maintainedMaintain required records and certificationsCoordinate Quality Assurance activities with Production employees and Mill ManagementWork with members of management team to maintain ongoing compliance and continuous improvement of the Quality Management SystemAbility to lead cross functional groups through complex situations to achieve specific goalsCapable of analyzing strategic goals and breaking them down into manageable projectsMust be a team builder with record of gaining engagement with both hourly and management contributorsAbility to drive quality and yield improvements using KPI s in conjunction with lean techniques such as 5s (6s including safety), mistake proofing, visual standard work, value stream analysisConstantly focused on continuous improvement through removal of wasteAbility to work with the production and maintenance groups to increase yield through quality improvement methodologiesImplement automation and process control projects where necessary to improve product quality and personnel safetyManagement techniques must include company methods (KPI s, goal setting, 6-S, accountability, feedback on performance while treating employees with dignity and respectDeveloping monitoring and refining process control practicesAssuring consistent compliance with dimensional, surface, and mechanical and metallurgical specificationsDevelop, Implement and Document, inspection practicesWork with Operations, maintenance and sales on customer, quality performance issuesMaintaining required ISO and AAR Certificationsrational and quality standard operating proceduresDeveloping quality control plans for rail mill products complete with reaction plans for non-conformances of process or productDeveloping quality control procedures for inspection and testing functionsDeveloping quality management system and shop floor process audit plansDeveloping incoming inspection plans for 3rd party supplied materials/servicesPerforming factory acceptance testing of supplied equipment or rail mill processesTranslating OEM equipment functionality specifications and other key operating information into standard operating procedures and employee trainingDeveloping training materials for operations and quality personnelConducting employee training sessions with operations and quality personnelJob Requirements:Experience and training in ISO-based quality management systemsExperience with using and performing dimensional inspections on metal productsPrevious experience in a supervisory or team leader role preferredExcellent written and verbal communication skills and experience delivering presentations to a variety of audiencesExperience developing and delivering technical training to a wide range of audiences (technical/non-technical; shopfloor/staff roles)Strong time management skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced team environmentEducation / Experience:Bachelor's degree in a technical field; candidates with an engineering degree preferred2-5 years' experience in a heavy industrial environment, steel preferredPhysical Requirements:Ability to walk, reach, climb, stoop, and lift (up to 75 pounds).Compensation$80,000 - 95,000 per yearOur client's total compensation package includes amazing benefits!A bonus may be paid to eligible employees based upon organizational and individual performanceFamily medical, dental, and prescription coverage at minimal employee costShort- and long-term disability programsRetirement Account contributions and (401k) with employer matchFlexible Spending and Health Savings AccountsEmployer-provided Group Life and Voluntary Life Insurance optionsPaid vacations, sick time and 10 paid holiday days per yearApprenticeship and career advancement within the companyTuition reimbursementWellness programAll applicants must be eligible to work in the USA without sponsorship.Equal Opportunity EmployerOur client is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
