As a team we collaborate to solve problems, contribute ideas and challenge each other to ensure growth and ultimately success for the business and our employees.We are seeking an NDT Tech Level I Inspector to join our Quality team in our Seamless Mill at our Pueblo, Colorado location. The Inspector's primary function is to inspect pipe, threads, couplings and coupling stock to assure meeting standard practices and A.P.I. specifications. This position reports to the Quality Assurance Supervisor and Production Supervisor.Inspect pipe, couplings, coupling stock, threads after threading and reclaims material for adherence to process sheets, standard practices and A.P.I. specifications and marks defectsVerify gauges and test equipment calibration, pipe size, grade and weightGrind areas of defectsMagnafluxes or magnaglo areas ground again to check for defectsAudits purchased couplingsOperate pipe movement equipment and applies thread protectorsCheck thin wall indication with a gage, visually inspects I.D. surface and magnafluxes pipe endsUse cutting torch to cut pipe ends and acquire test samplesReject, determine disposition, sort and identify pipe with inspector numberPrepare necessary reports, records and counts for traceability and inventory purposesKeeps work area and equipment clean and orderlyPerform duties as needed in keeping mill operational, including routine maintenance and assists Maintenance personnelAssist EMI Operators in change oversInform Material Handling personnel what the disposition of reclaims material and rejects areaAdhere to all appropriate Standard Operating ProceduresUtilize necessary safety equipment and observe all safety rules and lock out proceduresOperates all equipment needed to complete the jobThe above statement reflects the general details considered necessary to describe the principal functions of the job identified, and shall not be constructed as a detailed description of all of the work requirements that may be inherent in the job.RequirementsPossess an understanding of the basic manufacturing process and familiarity with heavy industry, manufacturing, or mining; or a closely related fieldCompetent in manipulating numbers, quantities, shapes and spaces; able to take simple measurements and perform basic mathematical operations (e.g., addition, subtraction, division, decimals, fractions)Ability to accurately read precision measurement tools, experience with gauges, micrometers, NDT flaw detectors and machine shop equipmentQualified Level I non-destructive testing background or equivalent preferredQuality control experience in a manufacturing and metallurgical background; knowledge of ISO standards, preferred4 year Technical Degree preferredMust meet and maintain Inspector Seamless Mill entry level qualifications concerning literacy, experience, training, testing, courses and certificationAbility to safely and appropriately operate, power and hand tools, machinery, and mobile equipment; 12 months experience preferredObtain and maintain OSHA 10 and equipment certifications, as requiredAbility to convey and understand information effectively and safely, including speaking over a public address systemAbility to work in both inside and outside environmental conditions, with exposure to elevated noise levels, extreme heat and cold, physical hazards - close proximity to moving parts, hot surfaces, pinch points, sparks, sharp edges, high pressure air, oxygen and gas lines (atmospheric conditions may require the use of a respirator)Must be able to work in a physically demanding manufacturing environment, which will include but not be limited to repetition, climbing, kneeling, standing, crawling, consistent exertion of forces up to 50 pounds or moreValid driver's license preferredMust be willing to work varied shifts (3 shift rotation) and any days of the weekMust be 18 years of ageQualified Candidates will be required to demonstrate proficiency through testingCompensation$23.78 per hourShift differentialOur total compensation package includes amazing benefits!A bonus may be paid to eligible employees based upon organizational performanceFamily medical, dental, and prescription coverage at minimal employee costShort and long term disability programsPension plan and (401k) with employer matchFlexible Spending and Health Savings AccountsEmployer-provided Group Life and Voluntary Life Insurance optionsPaid vacations, sick time and 10 paid holiday days per yearApprenticeship and career advancement within the companyTuition reimbursementWellness programAll applicants must be eligible to work in the USA without sponsorship.While we thank all those who apply, only those being actively considered for employment will be contacted.Equal Opportunity EmployerEVRAZ North America is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
