As a team we collaborate to solve problems, contribute ideas and challenge each other to ensure growth and ultimately success for the business and our employees.Job DescriptionThe Director of IT for long products will be responsible for IT systems and applications supporting the Long Product division, based in Pueblo Colorado. Daily responsibilities will include supporting mill operations. This will include the following:Assisting with production problems related to systems and technologyDeveloping solutions for customers and product linesEnsuring that critical business systems are available to the operations line so that production is not impactedManaging the IT resources to best support long productsIdentifying areas of improvement and opportunities for innovationEstablish and execute a vision for the delivery of systems and technology to support the Long Products division. Work directly with Long Products Management in support of key business initiatives. Establish a foundation of excellent project management, delivery, business acumen and trust. Lead by example in guiding the Long Products IT team to become a trusted business partner and expert resource. Work with mill supervisors to understand their challenges and develop solutions for improvement.The Director of IT - Long Products is responsible for ensuring all business IT needs are fulfilled. This includes not only supporting key systems and applications, but also ensuring basic capabilities such as desktop support, voice, email, etc. are working properly for Long Products personnel. In some cases, this will require working across organizations to gain support from other groups - both IT and business. This position is expected to have a high level of participation with the IT infrastructure team and the process engineering team.Principal Duties and ResponsibilitiesEnsures smooth running of all key business systems and applications.Support daily production activities. Prioritize resources on a daily basis to ensure the most critical business needs are being addressed.Meet with mill managers and supervisors to establish a rapport and relationship. Create an intake process to manage requests and manage deliverables/expectations. Attend weekly mill meetings to provide IT status updates.Creates and executes detailed project management plans, including scope, risk, communications, resources, stakeholders, timeliness and milestones. Produces monthly metrics scorecards and reports.Establish and maintain excellent inter-department communication so that roles, requirements, dependencies, decisions, and work processes are clearly articulated and understood.Manages operational budget and coordinates with CIO on Capitol budget for following year based on business requirements.RequirementsBachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field is required. Advanced degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field is preferred.Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in managing IT manufacturing systems or a directly related area during which both professional and management capability have been clearly demonstrated.Minimum 10 years experience working at a manufacturing location, at least 5 years at Director level. Experience working in a process industry such as steel, oil and gas or mining a plus.Extensive expertise and/or demonstrated experience with delivering manufacturing solutions, experience with Lean Manufacturing principles. Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle, JD Edwards or SAP.Experience must include strong skills in communication, innovation and project management. Superior knowledge of manufacturing principles including supply chain, inventory management, maintenance, safety and quality.Ability to establish and articulate a vision, set goals, develops and executes strategies, and track and measure results. Strong negotiating and consensus building abilities. Proven track record delivering value in a manufacturing environment. Good common sense approach to developing cost effective solutions and understanding when good enough is sufficient.Advanced analytical and project management skills for a variety of tasks or projects. Ability to deal with complex problems involving multiple facets, variables and situations where only limited standardization and resources exists.7-10 years of knowledge with standard ERP packages, such as Oracle, JD Edwards, MS Dynamics or SAP. Experience with Oracle Financial and Oracle ERP solutions preferredExperience with maintenance and safety systems such as IVARA and Enablon. Understanding of Lean C/I principles. Green belt certification a plus. Experience with process engineering tools such as Wonderware a plus.Experience and capability in translating non-technical user requests into complex technical specifications and solutions that meet these requirements.Exceptional oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, and speak clearly to members and employees.Excellent organizational and time management skills, with ability to multi-task.
