My Email Job Description _____________________________________________________________________________________ Title: Director of Communications Employee Group & Grade: Professional/Exempt Reports To: Chief Executive Officer Starting Salary Scale: $80,000-$100,000 Calendar Year: 222 days Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Short & Long Term Disability, Basic Life Insurance with option to add additional Voluntary Life Insurance, Optional Accident & Critical Illness coverage, PERA 401(K), Personal Time Off (PTO) Date Written/Revised: May 2021 _____________________________________________________________________________________ Purpose of Job: The GOAL Academy Director of Communication will coordinate our external and internal communications statewide to ensure that the organization's core values, mission and vision are clearly and consistently communicated across all media platforms. Oversight will include all digital media production, marketing, advertising and branding, messaging to promote a positive public image and control the dissemination of information on our schools' behalf. The Director will also oversee the implementation of the Strategic Planning and Continuous Improvement processes.     • Develop effective school communication strategies that include the maintenance of all communication that has been disseminated.
    • Direct supervision of the Communications, Strategic Planning, Marketing/Advertising and Branding, and Digital Media Departments.
    • Coordinate internal and external communication needs for all departments and school sites.
    • Liaise with media and handle requests for interviews, statements etc.
    • Collaborate with leadership, staff, and lobbyists to assess critical issue areas, communication needs and outreach objectives
    • Oversee the development of visual and written materials that support communication goals, including talking points, presentations, graphics and handouts
    • Assist in communication of strategies or messages from senior leadership
    • Ensure internal communications messages are consistent across all mediums and for different departments of the school
    • Develop and oversee outreach strategies with community partners and organizations throughout the state.
    • Oversee the Strategic Planning and Continuous Improvement process implementation
    • Model professional and ethical standards when dealing with stakeholders
    • Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits
    • Assist in student recruiting and retention
    • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned-- Accountability Standards for all GOAL Academy High School Staff:

      • Ethical, honest, and good-humored Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Education:
        • Bachelor's degree and training from an accredited college or university in public relations, communications or related field required Experience:--
          • 3 years of school-based experience required
          • 3 years working in an online environment and/or working with at risk youth preferred
          • Excellent portfolio with proven track record of successful?project management examples
          • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
          • Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
          • Experience in web design and content production
          • Excellent writing skills
          • Working knowledge of MS Office Or other background demonstrating application of the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
            • Ability to develop an employee culture that enhances productivity by fostering clear communication, respect, and fair treatment for employees.
            • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, time-management, verbal and written communication skills.
