Carries the primary authority and responsibility to provide
spiritual and emotional assistance to patients during the course of
their hospital stay. This position is also responsible for the
delivery of Catholic Sacraments (i. e., Sacrament of the Sick,
Eucharist and Reconciliation) as well as daily and weekend
**What You Bring/Job Requirements**
In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each
day, qualified candidates will need the following:
Three years successful pastoral ministry experience in hospital,
long-term care, or parish setting.A Roman Catholic Priest in good
standing.Ecclesiastical Endorsement for chaplaincy in a hospital
setting and in good standing within the denomination.Experience in
one of the following areas" palliative care, gerontology, hospice
preferred.Fluency in Spanish preferred.Experience incorporating
music, art or accepted complementary treatment modalities into
ministry is a plus.Ministry experience in a multi-campus setting is
Master's degree in spiritual care or equivalent degree from
accredited seminary required.
Affiliation and active involvement with a recognized Christian
denomination. 1 Units (quarters) of CPE (ClinicalPastoral
Education), required. After one year of hire, an additonal 3 units
of CPE's required.
Eligible and committed to becoming Board Certified by the
National Association for Catholic Chaplains or the Association of
Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up
to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)
