Job Description:
Omitron is seeking a Test Engineer to support software quality
assurance and verification activities for Cross Domain Solution
(CDS) data transformation within the CROWN program in Colorado
Springs, CO . In this role, you will be responsible for validating
data processing, transformation, and integration workflows across
system boundaries supporting secure data exchange within mission
systems. You will work closely with software engineers, system
engineers, and technical leads to develop and execute test
strategies to ensure correctness, reliability, and traceability of
mission-critical data pipelines. These systems require a high
degree of correctness, traceability, and reliability due to their
role in enforcing secure data transfer across operational
environments. This role focuses on functional and integration
testing, validation of structured data transformations, and
development of automated test capabilities. This position supports
a flexible work environment. Remote work may be considered for
highly qualified candidates based on program needs. Otherwise, this
role operates in a hybrid model with periodic in-office presence in
Colorado Springs to support integration, testing, and collaboration
activities. Responsibilities: Develop, document, and execute test
plans, test cases, and procedures based on system and software
requirements Validate data transformation, parsing, and integration
workflows across system boundaries Perform functional, regression,
integration, and system testing across development and integration
environments Identify, document, and track defects; collaborate
with developers to support timely resolution Ensure traceability
between requirements, test cases, and test results Develop and
maintain automated tests to improve coverage, repeatability, and
testing efficiency Participate in design discussions and provide
feedback on testability, validation, and overall software quality
Generate test reports and communicate results to technical and
program stakeholders Support configuration management and version
control of test artifacts Support system integration and validation
activities in both development and operational environments
Participate in iterative or hybrid development cycles, including
planning and test coordination activities Minimum Requirements: US
Citizenship required Security Clearance: Must be eligible to obtain
and maintain a DoD security clearance Education : Bachelor’s degree
in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical
field Experience : 2 years of experience in software testing,
quality assurance, or related technical role Experience developing
and executing test plans and test cases Understanding of software
development lifecycle and testing methodologies Familiarity with
defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira or similar) Basic proficiency in
a scripting or programming language (e.g., Python, Java, or
similar) Strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving
skills Ability to work collaboratively with development and systems
engineering teams Demonstrated ability to analyze test results and
identify root causes of defects Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting DoD or other government software programs
Experience testing data processing or integration-heavy systems
Experience with structured data validation (e.g., JSON, XML, XSD,
DFDL, or similar) Experience developing automated tests using
frameworks such as pytest, JUnit, or similar Familiarity with CI/CD
pipelines and integration of automated testing Experience with
requirements traceability and validation practices Familiarity with
requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS, Jama) Experience with
performance or load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Gatling) Current
DoD Security Clearance Compensation and Benefits: The salary range
for this role is $95,000 to $125,000 , depending on relevant
