As a member of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) and the NCAA Division II, CSU-Pueblo Athletics plays a supporting role in the higher education mission while enhancing a sense of community, strengthening our identity and playing a prominent role in enrollment management for the University. The University recently completed a new visioning process, entitled Vision 2028, which will establish CSU-Pueblo as the people's university of the southwest United States by 2028. Our success will be measured by the resilience, agility, and problem-solving abilities of our diverse population, and the ways in which our graduates are able to navigate work in a rapidly changing world. This full-time, twelve-month position provides an athletic trainer in the Department of Athletics. The primary responsibilities include assisting the Director of Sports Medicine/Head Athletic Trainer in providing injury prevention, evaluation, management, treatment and rehabilitation to the intercollegiate athletic population at CSU-Pueblo. This position will serve as the lead trainer for various sports that will be determined in consultation with the Director of Sports Medicine/Head Athletic Trainer. Additional responsibilities include supervision of athletic training students in our CAATE-Accredited program, team travel, assistance in other sports as assigned by the Director and other duties assigned by the Director. Description of Job Primary Duties - Preparing student-athletes for workouts, practices and competition - Providing evaluations of, treatment for and rehabilitation of athletic injuries for collegiate student-athletes - Athletics Training administrative duties including, but not limited to; maintaining complete medical records filing system for students to utilize in educational process, providing sufficient opportunity for appropriate student review and utilization of commonly used administrative records and forms (i.e. accident reports, treatment records, insurance forms, etc.) in accordance with HIPAA regulations - Acting as liaison between student-athletes, coaches, administration, parents, medical personnel and other support staff in matters of health and welfare of student-athletes Ancillary Duties - Other duties assigned by Director of Sports Medicine/Head Athletic Trainer and Director of Athletics Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights Minimum Qualifications - Bachelors Degree in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, Kinesiology or related field - Certification by the NATA Board of Certification - Professional CPR/AED and First Aid Certified - At least one year of experience as a certified athletic trainer Preferred Qualifications - Master's Degree in athletic training or related field - Certified Athletic Training experience at the college level - Ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion - Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with students, faculty, coaches, administrators and staff - Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and solve complex problems - Experience with and commitment to working with diverse student populations - Exhibit a commitment to abide by all University, conference, NCAA and athletics training regulations Supplemental Information All interested candidates must apply through the on-line application system.
