Job Description:

UCHealth is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) team. This role requires advanced knowledge of post-operative care and the ability to manage patient recovery immediately following surgery. Our RNs play a crucial role in monitoring patients for adverse reactions, managing pain relief, and providing vital patient education and support during the recovery phase. At UCHealth, we are committed to personalizing patient care and strive to provide the best medical services across our hospitals and outpatient facilities. Assess patient condition post-surgery and monitor vital signs and pain levels accordingly. Administer medications for pain and nausea as prescribed and monitor for any adverse reactions. Educate patients and their families on post-surgery care, potential complications, and the recovery process. Update patient records with observations, treatments, and medications in a timely manner. Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other team members to ensure comprehensive care. Strong skills in patient assessment and critical thinking. Proficient in handling and monitoring anesthesia recovery. Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and medical staff. Capability to work effectively in a high-stress, fast-paced environment. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Current RN license valid in the state of Colorado. BLS Certification required. ACLS Certification preferred.
