Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Lead at UCHealth summary: The
Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Lead supervises and coaches
sonography team members, ensuring high-quality ultrasound imaging
and workflow efficiency. They perform and oversee complex
ultrasound procedures, maintain equipment quality control, and
promote patient safety and teamwork. The role requires registration
and certification in sonography, leadership experience, and the
ability to mentor new staff and students in a clinical healthcare
environment. Description Location: UCHealth UCHlth Interquest Med
Ctr, US:CO:Colorado Springs Department: UIS Interquest Mammography
FTE: Full Time, 0.8, 64.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks) Shift:
Days Pay: $42.01 - $58.82 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's
relevant experience Summary: Leads sonography team members by
demonstrating and providing advanced knowledge of job
responsibilities. Responsibilities: Provides monitoring, coaching
and evaluation of team members' performance, especially in the
areas of productivity and quality management. Serves as a positive
role model by working with team members to promote teamwork and
cooperation. Assists with coordinating services, prioritizing
assignments and workflow, and promoting situational
decision-making/problem solving. Performs responsibilities of
underlying job. Takes responsibility for, or provides guidance to
team members on, the handling of complex or novel issues. Oversees
equipment quality control testing, maintenance, and
troubleshooting. May work with Radiology students. Minimum
Requirements: • Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technologist
program. • Registered as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) by
the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or
registered as a Technologist (RT) and certified in sonography (S)
by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). State
licensure if required by law. Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare
Provider. • Must Have four certifications or more. • 2 years
experience • Registered Sonographer • Registered Radiologic
Technologist • ARRT Sonography (S) • BLS through the American Heart
Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional
Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must

Sonographer: • Reviews patient history, physician's orders and does
scheduling. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and
exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation. When
ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications
within scope of practice • Monitors patient condition continually
and reports/responds to change in status as appropriate. Selects
appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. • Implements
safety standards and performs appropriate quality control
procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports
equipment malfunctions as necessary. Positions patient and performs
imaging procedure(s). Analyzes results and identifies issues with
