Job DescriptionSan Luis Valley Health RN Trauma Nurse
Coordinator Conejos County HospitalSan Luis Valley Health is
seeking a full time Staff Registered Nurse to join our team! This
position will be a Staff RN position with additional Trauma Nurse
Coordinator duties. The Trauma Nurse Coordinator will manage the
trauma program with duties that require effective collection and
collation of data. This position will plan a key role in the survey
designation process, and will coordinate medical record reviews.
What You'll Need: Graduate of a nursing school with preference to a
BSN graduate, ADN required. Current Colorado Registered Nurse
(R.N.) Licensure, required. Minimum of two (2) years Emergency
Nursing experience, required. Basic Life Support (B.L.S.), Advanced
Life Support (A.L.S.), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (P.A.L.S.)
upon hire, required. Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) certifications
required. Must have completed within 12 months of hire date,
required.What You'll Do: As the RN: Assisting, planning,
implementing and evaluating the delivery of care to accepted
nursing and hospital standards Administering prescribed medications
and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques.
Maintaining awareness of comfort and safety needs of patient.
Observing patient, records significant conditions and reactions,
and notifies physician of patient's condition and reaction to
drugs, treatments, and significant incidents. Responding to all
situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and
protocol. Documenting nursing history and physical assessment for
assigned patients. Performs all duties of a staff nurse and staffs
in the department a minimum of five shifts per pay period.As the
TNC: Assures hospital compliance with mandated regulations
including quality improvement functions. Assures hospital maintains
applicable state trauma level designations. Coordinates regular
meetings of Trauma Committee.Identifies needed hospital wide trauma
education/training programs and assists in preparation and
presentation Serve as a liaison between medical staff, hospital,
pre-hospital providers, and state trauma agencies. Participates in
trauma morbidity and mortality reviews to identify cases to follow
up and prepare registry reports.Works closely with Trauma Systems
Director to continuously monitor and evaluate the trauma
program.Coordinates regular meetings of Trauma Committee.Develops
minutes and other documentation of Trauma Committee
activities.Collects and maintains trauma data in accord with
hospital and state requirements.Performs chart
abstracting/reviews.Analyzes and monitors patient treatment and
care according to state/hospital established criteria.Represents
San Luis Valley Health in the Regional EMS/Trauma Advisory Council
(RETAC) meetings.12 hours of TNC duties per pay period.We Take Care
