Job Title: SSVF Case Manager FLSA Status: Full Time - non-exempt
Reports to: SSVF Program Lead Schedule: FT Supervises: N/A Closing
Date: 12/28/2023 Rate of Pay: $23-26/hour Benefits: Standard;
Full-Time, Non-Exempt employees are eligible for but not limited to
the following: Health, vision, dental, life as well as voluntary
life and disability insurance Sick leave benefit - 1 day per month,
12 sick days per year (accrual and availability begins at hire)
Vacation benefit - 10 vacation days per year, accrued at the rate
of .0385 hours for each hour worked, excluding overtime (accrual
begins at hire but may not be used until the completion of six
months of employment) One floating day off for use (accrued
immediately, and again annually, but may not be used until the
completion of the initial three-month introductory period of
employment) Pension Plan (after one year of continuous service)
Voluntary Tax-Deferred Annuity Plan (403(b)plan) Scope of
Position/Essential Functions: The SSVF Case Manager will have a
focus on homeless and low income veteran families in El Paso
County. Utilizing Case Management and funding help veterans to
stabilize their housing and lives. This will be done through a
strength-based/client-centric approach. Do an assessment intake on
the resident to obtain personal history Assess what other resources
and agencies would benefit the resident and make referrals
accordingly. Maintain accurate written case notes on each resident
interviewed. Follow all policies and procedures of the center. Meet
with Families assigned to you weekly to monthly for updates and
guidance. Understand all policies and procedures for the center and
implement them in daily work. Initiate funds to be distributed in
support of veterans as needed to aid in their housing stability
Maintain records in a timely, accurate, and orderly manner.
Participate in training as required by the Social Services Director
or VA Program Manager. Maintain required records related to grant
administration. Give high priority to the welfare of each veteran
under your care. Give input to needed educational programming.
Cooperate with other center staff and volunteers. Maintain a
professional attitude and appearance at all times. Actively support
the mission and goals of The Salvation Army.
Education and Work Experience: Associates degree in Human Services
(or minimum of two years working with displaced clients), Bachelors
preferred Minimum of three years in Case Management or a related
field Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required: Excellent verbal
and written communication skills. Ability to present information to
small groups. Must demonstrate good judgment and act in a
professional manner. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability
to meet deadlines. Ability to work with people from diverse
populations Ability to read and write in the English language Must
have problem-solving, listening, and organizational skills. Ability
to multitask and prioritize according to deadlines. Must have time
management skills. Ability to file and maintain files with
accuracy.
