Job Description:

Title: General Manager/Guest Experience ManagerSummary:Responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the hotel operate to maximize sales, guest satisfaction, associate satisfaction, and profit. This role is also responsible for the programmatic soul of the property, making connections between guests and the local community using arts and culture.Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned) Program and Marketing: With assistance from the above-property team, develop and implementfacilitate arts and cultural programming including hosted on-site programs, marketed events, and community events. Developand implement standard programming including weekly film screenings during the high season. Develop and manage the annual budget. Make recommendations regarding the overall operations budget and manage expenses of the hotel within approved budget constraints. Monitor guest-facing communication platforms including email, phone, and booking apps, and assist with check-in process or guest inquiries as needed. Effectively represent the hotel in the community with active leadership and participation. Manage and implement social media accounts and other marketing efforts. Assist with website updates including San Luis Valley recommendation page/map, programming calendar, and website copy. Assist ownership with grant writing for fundraising opportunities for Phase 2 of the project. General Operations: Coordinate with Site Manager and Executive Housekeeper to maintain a schedule of Manager on Duty. Some weekends will be required depending on the needs of the operation. Orchestrate the activities of the hotel to ensure the guests receive a high level of service, sales are maximized, and profit meets owner expectations. Offer site tours and logistical assistance for events business and full-property buyouts. When relevant, provide programming assistance to full-property buyouts. Implement and oversee revenue strategy alongside Director of Asset Mgmt and Operations. Assist in developing and implementing marketing and sales strategies and cost containment strategies as necessary to achieve profitability indicators. This includes but is not limited to participating in weekly revenue calls monitoring published room rates and occupancy level. Respond to guest requests and complaints and follow up to ensure guest's satisfaction. Maintain safe and secure environment for guests and associates. Follow established safety procedures. Work with Executive Housekeeper and Site Manager to ensure scheduling is done in accordance with the forecasted occupancy. Attend all meetings as required. Provide assistance to all departments of the hotel to contribute to its smooth operation. Maintain a clean, pleasant, and professional image to guests and associates. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
