What you will do:
Responsible for the environmental strategy, planning, and execution of projects across GCC US locations, related to operations, alternative fuels, and sustainability. Support cement/ready-mix environmental engineers and coal mine environmental program.

  • Plan and organize environmental support of operations, engineering, alternate fuels and sustainability projects from conception to completion.
  • Utilize engineering knowledge for environmental project management; estimate timelines and schedules; anticipate risks and costs
  • Lead projects related to environmental protection, such as water treatment facilities, air pollution control systems, and land reclamation
  • Provide guidance to technical, engineering, and operations teams on environmental impacts and strategies for major projects across the Division
  • Monitor legislative and rulemaking activities and provide guidance and recommendations for engagement across operations locations
  • Identifies environmental risks which require priority attention and works with Operations and plant engineers to develop and implement corrective actions
  • Work with plant environmental engineers to identify best practices, areas of opportunity, and drive continual improvement in environmental processes
  • Oversight of environmental program at a coal mine
  • Provides input related to environmental expenditures for a functional or geographic area and controls assigned budget
  • Assists with environmental due diligence and integration of mergers and acquisitions
  • required to travel on a regular basis both domestically and internationally, 40-75% of the timeExperience and abilities you will need:
    • 5+ years or more of environmental experience with air and water regulations, including NSPS, PSD/NSR, required.
    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and engineering trades.
    • NESHAP, and Title V in a manufacturing environment.
    • Some experience in cement manufacturing or similar source industry highly preferred
    • Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills to manage and execute large-scale environmental projects.
    • Ability to manage multiple project deadlines.
    • Public speaking and presentation skills.
    • Interpersonal and team skills for working with employees at all levels both internal and external.
    • Professional Engineer-Certification Preferred.You will love working here because:
